under water

all images from aubrey road

Sorry for the lack of blogging today. Crazy (happy) day. And with running around I felt like my head was under water, finally just came up for air.
I can feel the weather changing, it's happening within me. The shift we have all been patiently waiting's coming. It really is.

Happy Monday. Hope you all had a great one.

It may have been the worst oscars ever but I witnesses it with the best crew.

I'm feeling sad for Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Hmmmm...

But nothing makes me more sad than the tragic job stylist Rachel Zoe did dressing Anne Hathaway. What what what?!?

What did you all think about the whole thing? Winners? Speeches? Dresses? The greatness of Kirk Douglas? Thoughts?

This is how I feel

All is good.

oh man

um, hello. and yes, please.

it's a beautiful sunday morning

My lovely child had me up at 6am even though I painfully begged for more shut eye. Does he not realize that when mommy gets home late he should sleep at least until 9am?  Well the mix of my amazing night out last night, the Korean BBQ scent still lingering in my hair and the epic stroll Lulu and I took in the gorgeous morning light somehow makes the lack of zzzz's a-ok, even glorious. I'm smiling, as I did allllll last night, and singing this Rolling Stones song on repeat in my head.

Happy Sunday to you all!xo

On and off

all of us

I don't care who you are, life will whip you around and throw you down and make you feel alone. It will make you wonder and curse and cry. It will fucking punch you in the stomach and then pound you in the heart without giving you a moment to catch your breath. The comfort in it is, you are not alone. We all get the shit kicked out of us at times.

how can I ask this nicely?

But I beg of you all, please stop emailing me about when I'll be updating my heartbeat project. It weighs so heavily on me...I shoot people almost daily still, sometimes more than one person a day, but I wait days, weeks and months for quotes. Which is why I don't update each day.
I'm sorry. I know, I know...

the need for the sea is beyond desperate at this moment.

a fine line

it's really that easy...loving the zip rolled cuff. Usually you only see that on one leg after a bike ride. But he looks perfect with it. Perhaps it's the whole package though...

It's been a manly day...bumped into an old friend on my early walk with bear and ended up having the most unexpected and incredible morning.

from the files of: if I ever get married

I want to wear this amazing dress that Blake Lively wore to the Emmy's back in 2009. Of course I wouldn't wear it in red, I'd be in blue.

Don't you love it?

MELTING over this picture ellen just sent me of Alexander Wang's niece backstage at his show. I want to be her!

love and wants

happy weekend!

Hopefully you all had a quick, happy and stress-free week. Some things I'm love love loving to start off your weekend:

1. the website jjjjound. it's an oldie and a serious goodie. I find myself daydreaming of times and people and places as I scroll nonstop through it.

2. these absurd photos of Chrissy in Sports Illustrated. I mean, seriously?????? Each time I look at them I shortly after hit the pavement for miles beyond anything I've ever done.

3. a cocktail that will make your weekend simply perfect from Young Married Chic

4. the fall 2011 Gucci show that's rattling every single part of my mind. bonkers, i love it.

5. my girl Amanda's blog, that she needs to update STAT. it's full of inspiration and beauty. check it out.

dress me

Today I'd like to be Kelly Rutherford from the Dennis Basso NY show. Her look, from head to toe is exactly what I'm feeling despite the tragic rain falling.

In college I dated this perfect guy named Greg. He was a hippie with an afro and the most beautiful VW bus named Eurg. On rainy nights I would make him lay with me in the back of the bus so we could listen to the drops hitting its tin roof. I would pretend we were by the beach, but really we were just in the parking lot of a 7-eleven.

sweet heart

a hilarious/sweet note from the amazing Tina

"Just now, walking down the street after a late night at work, I tightened my imitation Burberry scarf around my neck and felt something that didn't belong. I looked down, and there was a heart sticker. The sticker (likely leftover from Valentine's Day) was placed over the mouthpiece of my coffee three days ago, to keep it from spilling. I remember that morning, looking down to find the sticker had oddly disappeared from my coffee lid. So naturally, when I found it on my scarf tonight, I smiled and thought of you. And I left the heart on my scarf. Near my heart."

What I'd really really like....

Is to cruise these streets...
wearing this dress:

feeling like this:

perhaps impossible at this very moment, but not utterly unachievable one day.
fingers crossed.

I'm hungry

going on to young married chic just now didn't help by desperate yearning for food. ahh, when I saw this picture and recipe I began to nibble on my shirt. How delicious?!?

Ham and Egg Crepe Squares

1 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
4 large eggs
3 tablespoons melted butter
9 thin slices ham
9 eggs
Chopped fresh parsley
1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, milk, four eggs and the melted butter in a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds.  Let rest for 15 minutes.
2. Heat a 12 inch non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with butter.  Add 1/3 cup batter and swirl to completely cover skillet.  Cook until underside of crepe is very lightly starting to brown, about 2 minutes.
3.  Loosen edge of crepe with spatula and then either using large spatula or your fingers, lift it up and flip it over.  Cook another minutes and then slide out of skillet onto wax paper.  Repeat until all crepes are done.  You should have about 9 when you are done.
4. Preheat oven to 350.  Place crepes on a rimmed baking sheet (you can fit 3-4 per sheet).  Place am slice in center of crepe and carefully crack egg onto ham.  Fold edges of crepe toward center, using the egg white as a kind of glue.  Season with salt and pepper and bake until egg white is set, about 10-12 minutes.  Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve at once.
