Right now I'm in the midst of reading Marilyn, Mon Amour by Andre de Dienes.

I've never been too interested in her life, but after watching My Week With Marilyn, I've become more fascinated. This book is so beautiful.

In 1945, fashion photographer Andre de Dienes met an aspiring young brunette model named Norma Jeane. He instantly fell in love and transformed her into Marilyn Monroe over the course of a series of road trips which they took together. He wrote secret memoirs, which were discovered when Monroe fans ransacked his house after his death in 1988. From their trip to see her mother in a mental hospital to Marilyn's visit to his home a few days before her death, De Dienes recounts all of the emotional moments they shared. A beautiful story of friendship and love.

My addiction to the British version of Top Gear has me full on obsessed with cars now. If I could do any other job, it would be to join the cast of that show. I'm a good driver (some would probably care to disagree), fast. I could be an amazing addition to the crew....

I admire people's things all day long. Their hair, their children, the way they effortlessly walk in 5 inch heels on cobblestone streets...so today when I sat next to someone on the subway and saw a massive cuff practically the size of my bicep, I did all I could not to rip it from her wrist. Raising my son to remember this at all times. To be kind to strangers, to the blind woman he chats with on the street (whom he called "beautiful" on easter sunday), to give to the kid without a car at the sandbox, to ask questions to everyone and listen to every answer. EVERY word. Everyone is someone. 


I want him to hold that in his mind and treat it with the most affection possible. Today. Always.

I'm hosting a dinner party for my best friend (she's turning 30 and is pregnant), in the end of May. I want to do something bright and fun. Do you have any ideas of what I can do that makes it girly and pretty but not too much frill? I want chic and modern. 

This photo is such a good way to bring color into an outdoor lunch or dinner party. Not sure how much I love the plates, but a more toned down version would be amazing.

There's nothing like wildflowers in different shaped vases. Etsy is a great place to discover little vintage bottles for things like this. Also, check out flea markets and second hand stores in small villages, that's always where I find the best deals and most unreal discoveries.

I'm having a great day. And have been for quite some time recently. I feel like I've really rid my life of toxic nonsense and have such clean and clear energy around me. It's the best feeling in the world.

Anyway, part of feeling so good is realizing what makes me happy. You know? I really believe that is what good living is about. Really understanding your true pleasures. Once I accepted that talking long runs, listening to music and dancing with luca, looking at inspirational photos, writing in my journal, not talking to/dealing with unstable/vicious people, selling/giving away all the extra stuff in my life, was what brought me joy, I just went with it.

What really makes you happy? What brings you to a very good place?
